Let The Music Move You: Til I Hear You Sing (Love Never Dies)

From my Pinterest account and this blog, (if you have seen either), you can probably see I'm a big "The Phantom of the Opera" Phan. But this song, is from the musical "Love Never Dies", the sequel to "The Phantom of the Opera".

The song is "Til I hear You Sing", which Erik, the Phantom sings. It's basically a beautiful song about him longing for Christine Daae, his lover whom he has let go to marry the Viscount Raoul, to come and sing for him once more. The piano in the beginning is beautiful, as is the music video. Ramin Karimloo is Erik in this version, my personal favorite Phantom. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47dUc4iMAvQ.

Amazingly, this is one of the VERY few songs and/or music videos strong enough to make me weep. I'm a Christine/Erik shipper (Long Story), so, that's probably why. Since I love musicals, and ones which such strong songs and lyrics, I always love finding raw emotion. Some people call it terrible, but maybe they just don't understand acting, and that's totally okay. I didn't get it until I saw Les Misérables, or I probably would have called Anne Hathaway's version of "I Dreamed A Dream" terrible, but I think it is beautiful. Ramin's voice fits Erik wonderfully. Andrew Lloyd Webber did one spectacular job on this song, and the whole musical of "Love Never Dies".

These are some the lyrics that get me every time, AKA, the whole thing (This is the video version lyrics that I have posted from the link above):

The day starts, the day ends, time crawls by,
Night steals in pacing the floor
The moments creep, yet I can't bear to sleep, til I hear you sing.

Played Christine Daae in
Love Never Dies
And weeks pass and months pass, seasons fly
Still you don't walk through the door.
And in a haze I count the silent days
Til I hear you sing, once more.

And sometimes at nighttime
I dream that you are there
But wake holding nothing but the empty air

And years come
And years go
Time runs dry

Still I ache down to the core
My broken soul can't be alive and whole
Til I hear you sing, once more

And music, your music
It teases in my ear
I turn and it fades away
And you're not here

Let hopes pass
Let dreams pass
Let them die
Without you, what are they for

I'll always feel no more than halfway real
Til I hear you sing, once more

It's such a sweet sad song. I remember the first time I heard it, and I was blinking back tears. I'm really emotional, but when it comes to normal songs, I'm like just, listening to it. Now, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, and Christian songs with such good meanings, WHOLE different story. I sob my eyes out. I would probably recommend you read or watch a version of "The Phantom of the Opera" so you get the entire plot. Maybe you can figure it out without either suggestions.

So this is my lovely reason why I love this song so much.
