Celebrate Musicals Week: Day 5 Fun Trivia

This is a little test/quiz that I made up. You can write your answers in to my questions in the comments box! It's a list of 10 questions, and I'll give my answers too! I don't want anyone to feel that they should answer the questions by my own answers. Share what you think!!!

1. Sierra Bogess Or Emmy Rossum?
Okay, I think everyone who has read my blog and all of it's posts on Phantom should know this answer!!!! Emmy Rossum!!!! No, no, no, I'm so just kidding! Sierra Boggess will always be my favorite and the perfect Christine! I know Sierra's voice 10x better than Emmy's. I'll give some reasons for anyone who might be horrified by my answer :). Emmy Rossum did nearly no acting. She didn't look sad or desperate going to her Father's grave, she had no emotion when Erik took her to his lair. Nothing was there. And, I do not really care for her voice. I don't know how to explain why I don't like it without sounding really rude.......There's something about it. I don't like the way to she "The Phantom of the Opera". She seems to rush it too much. Sierra's version is my favorite. Her voice is stunning (yes I do know Emmy has opera training and Sierra is trained for musical theatre) and I could see all of her emotions. Stage or set, you should still "feel" the character you are playing. It's important, it's vital. You could see how Sierra was desperate to hear her father's voice, scared at the beginning of "All I Ask Of You", turning from playing her part of being seductive to being fearful of Erik in "Past The Point Of No Return". This is the reason why I like Sierra Better.

2. Ramin Karimloo or Gerard Butler?
I will sum this up since answer 1 was rather long. When I think of a creepy genius with the voice of an angel, I think dark, low and mysterious. Not high. Gerard Butler's voice is high and I don't care for it. Yes, I've done my research, I know he only got four voice lessons before the movie. But that's not my fault or his is it? He was completely emotionless in "Stranger Than You Dreamt It", while Ramin went from angry, to hopeful, to just helpless. Ramin acting skills are much better, too.

3. Stage or Movie?
First, about the question, it can be any stage production. The movie that I am referring to is the 2004 one with Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler. For me, it's the stage version. Hopefully I don't have to put which one it is, because in all of my posts I've made it quite clear.

4. Do You Ship Raoul/Christine or Erik/Christine
My defending post about Erik should let everyone know. ERIK!!!!!!!

5. Hadley Fraser or Patrick Wilson?
Hadley Fraser. Plain and Simple. Patrick Wilson's a good singer, but Hadley is a great singer. I didn't like Patrick Wilson's wig for one thing, too. Sometimes I think people who perform on Broadway have better acting skills than some better known actors and actresses.

6. How Do You Feel About "Love Never Dies"
Wellllllll, the time has come for my opinion. I love the score, it's absolutely beautiful. The story......Well, it's not the brightest thing that Andrew Lloyd Webber has came up with. I've always wanted Erik and Christine to be together, but turning Raoul into a gambling drunk, Meg into a jealous witch, Madame Giry into an evil woman and Christine dying was not part of the plan.

7. What Are Your Feelings On The B0ok?
Beautiful. But it seems always to be better the second time around. :). Christine and Raoul are quite childish and Erik is just creepy. Listening into their conversation at the top of the Paris Opera House. That's taking stalking to another level. The ending is so sad!!! (Sob here)

8. Overall Perspective Of Christine Daaé? (Book)
Well, for one she's very childish. And she just is a tiny bit annoying, but for the most part, I liked her.

9. Overall Perspective Of Raoul? (Book)
Raoul is your overall rich "good man" person. He's very kind and caring. Rich too, I'll just throw that in because it's just the truth. He cares very deeply for Christine, and tries to show that in many ways. It takes him quite a while to prove it, I may add. He goes down to rescue Christine with the Persian, offering to sacrifice his life for her. Overall, I like him.

10. Overall Perspective Of Erik? (Book)
Gah!!!! What can I say about Erik?? He's a murdering, psycho genius. (Mumbles and kicks stone here) He should have gotten Christine in the end....... For me, I pity him terribly. That's all I'm going to say.

I hoped you enjoyed the questions and reading my answers. Once again, don't let my answers effect yours, and answer truthfully.

Celebrate Musicals Week: Day 4: Dream Cast/In Defense Of Erik

(Singing Voice) Dreammmmmm Casttttttt! (Turns Off Singing Voice) Gah, this is so exciting!!! But not all too exciting because it's not really a mix of characters from different productions. They're all in the same one. Yes, my dream cast has already been made. The 25th Anniversary Cast is my favorite.

I've always told you how much I love Sierra, Ramin and Hadley, but now I shall tell you about more of the characters that I love that make the cast complete.

Monsieur André
Monsieur Andre is awesome. Barry James and Gareth Snook are such a good team. I love their version of Notes I and Notes II. Best. Version. Ever.

Monsieur Firmin
Monsieur Firmin is also excellent. Above is my answer also for this.

Madame Giry
Liz Robertson looks so stiff and serious in the 25th. I LOVE  it!!! She seems so serious and very dedicated to serving the Phantom. She is extremely kind to Christine. Needless to say, Liz Robertson is on my dream cast.

Meg Giry
I cannot tell you this. I haven't seen much of the 2004 movie Meg, so I'll go with Daisy Maywood from the 25th. Though she doesn't look like a young ballet dancer, her voice is good.

Carlotta
Definitely Wendy Ferguson. I love her accent and her acting. Her singing is gorgeous!!!!!

In Defense Of Erik
My dream cast post is very short, so I will be adding another subject onto it. Now, we all know how pretty much everyone is Team Raoul. I can proudly assure you that I am not. I am Team Erik. Everyone tells me I'm a person with a big heart, and with my big heart, it pities the Phantom terribly. Though I have already done a defending post, it's still good for people to know which team I stand for. This link goes to my defending post about Erik. Now, I love Raoul. Especially Hadley's but it still doesn't change how I feel about Erik/Christine and Raoul/Christine. Everyone says "Oh, I do pity the Phantom, but Raoul is so handsome, and is a great guy and he's a vicomte! He's rich!" For me, money doesn't matter. There was so many things Erik could have done differently, but would anything else work to get Christine to love him? NO. That is the truth. NO.

Celebrate Musicals Week: Day 3: Costume Comparisions

Now, I first saw this on Pinterest. It was a costume comparison on Christine's attire. Ranging from her "Think Of Me" costume to her "All I Ask Of You" costume. Now I'm leaving it up to you! Which costumes do you like better? Stage or Movie?

Okay, I absolutely love the stage version of the "Think Of Me" costume! The vibrant colors, it just seems really nice. The movie's version just seems kind of "eh"ish. It's a mellow color of brown with a tiny tiny tiny hint of red.

Wow. Both are very nice, but one is very beautiful. The play is called "Hanniball". I think the stage outfit suits the play best with it's vibrant colors. If it was for some kind of ball, the movie costume would have won. But for the story, well, it's definitely the stage I prefer.

Okay, I couldn't find a picture of Sierra Boggess' costume for "All I Ask Of You", Because that is my absolute favorite. So, people, just imagine that the stage version is Sierra Bogess' dress and cape in your mind. The mint green cape and the lavenderish dress compliment each other so well!!

Okay, this one could be a possible tie. It's kind of a toss up. Emmy's dress is beautiful, no doubt, but I love the stage version. The dress, it looks like a pink camel with two humps in the back. The stage costume is nice and puffy, and I love how the color changes for indigo to light purple to a pretty pink. And this is coming from a girl who despises most shades of pink!!! But I love the crown and the wand, so I'm in for the stage costume. The movie dress wouldn't be far behind.

Man, this is anther toss up. Black is very appropriate for going to a cemetery, but there's something about these stages outfits that make me love them. Sierra's blue dress and cape are beautiful and Emmy's dress is a nice black one. It needs a higher neckline for sure, though. I'm going with the stage version.

Past the point of no return! The final threshold! I love this song with Ramin and Sierra's voices! I was looking up 1905 fashion, and Emmy's dress looks like a nowadays costume. The stage version doesn't look too much like 1905 fashion either, but it comes closer. I'll make this easy. My answer is the stage costume.

Here comes the bride! All dressed in white! Okay okay, Christine's not really getting married to Erik (sadly). Goodness, I love the stage version!!!!!! That's my answer. Emmy's dress is okay, but I love to
wear look at victorianish dresses with the forearm sleeves with the ruffles edges, and the ruffles on the skirt. Beautiful!

So, that's my choices!!!!! As you can see, I love the stage version like 100x better than the movie versions. (I'm so sorry to all the POTO movie fans out there!)

Celebrate Musicals Week: Day 2: Song Comparisions & Tag!!!!

Alright. I've selected five songs to do comparisons on. Our Competitors: The 25th Anniversary and the POTO 2004 Movie. These were the songs I thought were the best to compare.

1. Think Of Me
Emmy's voice is probably great to people. For me, it's not my favorite. I love the way Sierra was so nervous that she tried to run off stage before Madame Giry stabbed the ground. Goodness, I would want to run too! But, I probably would have actually ran off, instead of sing!! All Emmy did was take a step further and her once grew louder. Sierra grew louder, more confident and she basically felt like now she was in her comfort zone. Sierra wins, hands down.

2. The Phantom Of The Opera
The Phhhaaaannnnntttttooommmmm to the opera is tttthhhheeeeerrrrrrreeee!!!!!! Insiiiiiddddeeee my mmmiiiinnnndddddd!!!!! This is one of the best songs in the musical. A total given, as we Phans know. Sierra and Ramin make the best Erik and Christine. Emmy's singing irks me. I don't know why. Like the way she say the line "and speaks my name". She rushes the "my name" part, and it doesn't sound good. I love how Sierra chooses to stretch the line out. Gerard Butler's voice is too high for my taste. Ramin's is low and mysterious. Ramin, Sierra and Hadley. You could never find a better cast.

3. Notes
Another one of my favorite songs. Barry James and Gareth Snook make this song!!!! Add Hadley Fraser, Wendy Ferguson, Wynne Evans and Liz Robertson, you've got the perfect cast. I would have probably loved the "notes" from the movie, if they would have sang the notes instead of Patrick Wilson reading them. The men who play André and Firmin in the movie seem stiff without any emotion. I love Wendy's anger toward Hadley. Especially the "Where is he! Your precious patron, where is he?" best line of hers!!! I love how Gareth and Barry made the scene a bit comedic!!! I love a good laugh!

4. All I Ask Of You
Both versions are good, Sierra and Hadley win.

5. Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
Sierra wins. She has a spectacular voice and great acting skills. Emmy Rossum didn't sound sad, angry, desperate, THERE WAS NO EMOTION!!!!!! THE MOST EMOTION SHE SHOWS IN THE MOVIE WAS AT TEH SCENE OF THE "FINAL LAIR"!!!!! Sierra's voice and actions tells that she is begging for her father to help her!!! She turns from wondering, sad and then desperate. How can it get better than that?

What Are Your Favorite Versions Of These Songs??? Comment Your Thoughts!!!

The Tag!!!
So, this is the tag from Miss Dashwood's Blog "Yet Another Period Drama Blog" and these are the Q & A.

1.  What musical did you pick to "spotlight" this week and why?
Well, I picked The Phantom of the Opera, because:
A. I knew quite a lot of bloggers would be doing Les Misérables
B. I absolutely love Phantom (POTO and Les Mis tie)
C. It's just a great musical to do.

2.  How did you discover the musical you picked (hereinafter referred to as "your musical")?
Well, I heard about it on the news and about a month before that, it came up when I discovered Les Misérables. I looked on Wikipedia and BOOM!!! The rest is history!!!

3.  If you had to pick three favorite songs from your musical, which ones would they be?
THREE????? Completely unheard of!!! :) Well, one would be "The Phantom of the Opera", "Notes" and "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again/Wandering Child". I'm throwing in one more because I want to. "Think Of Me"

4.  What's your least favorite song from your musical?
You all are going to hate me for this.......First, off "Poor Fool He Makes Me Laugh" and then...... (mumbles and kicks stone) "All I Ask Of You". I'M SO SORRY!!!!! I've never really liked the song. It's wonderful to sing, but I don't really like to listen to it.

5.  Who are your favorite characters (choose up to three)?
Erik, Christine, André and Firmin. YES I picked four, because Firmin goes along with André. They are a team.

6.  Which versions of your musical have you seen/listened to, and which is your favorite?
I've seen most of the POTO 2004 Movie and The Phantom of the Opera at The Royal Albert Hall. The Royal Albert Hall wins hands downs.

7.   Is this your favorite musical of all time?  If not, what is?
Yes, but it is tied with Les Misérables. YES I CAN TIE IF I WANT TO!!!! :)

8.   Which cast album/musical soundtrack in your collection do you listen to the most?
I don't own any soundtrack. Boy do I wish I own one!!!! But the one I listen to most often is definitely the 25th Anniversary.

9.   What is your favorite costume from your musical?
Ooiy. I have no idea. I love the Wedding dress, the Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again dress and Sierra Boggess' "All I Ask Of You" dress.

10.  If you could change anything about your musical, what would you change?
The fact that Christine went with Raoul, and the fact that Erik murdered people.

11.  Which role(s) would you most like to play in any musical, if you had the opportunity to do so on stage?
Not counting that I'm probably not a soprano, I would want to play Christine Daaé from POTO, or Cosette or Eponine from Les Misérables or Christine Daaé from Love Never Dies.

12.  If you could choose one performer to play any part in your musical, who would you choose and which part would you have them play?
I am not sure. I've never came up with a musical, but Ramin Karimloo is a shoe-in.

13.  Do you consider yourself a musical theatre fan in general or do you just like a few musicals?
Sadly, I just like a few musicals. (Les Mis, POTO, LND, Newsies) I haven't got much time to explore more. I have many siblings, I'm home schooled, and with a big family, comes a lot of work. I even go with my Dad to work sometimes, so my life is hectic. Hopefully I'll have more time in the future to do some more exploring. But I guess, just to make myself feel better, :) I'll call myself a musical theatre fan in my head.

14.  Are you tired of the word "musical" yet?
Goodness, no!!! Who would get tired or hearing  the word "musical"?

15.  Turn your music playing device on shuffle (or utilize Pandora if you don't have one) and tell us the names of the first three show tunes that come up-- no cheating!  How do these
rank on your favorites/most-listened-to list?

The ones that came up for my entire list were
"Epilogue"
"Valjean's Soliloquy"
"On My Own"
Now in order of how I like them:
"Epilogue" - Because we all know how beautiful the movie version is!
"On My Own" - Because we all known that Samantha Barks and Lea Salonga rocks it!
"Valjean's Soliloquy" - Because Hugh Jackman is awesome!

Hope You Enjoyed My Answers!!!

Celebrate Musicals Week Day 1 Phantom Stage Review

I have been looking forward to this from as soon as I found out about this!!! I will start out with my review of the 25th Anniversary stage production at the Royal Albert Hall.
CAST:
Ramin Karimloo as Erik
Sierra Boggess as Christine Daaé
Hadley Fraser as Raoul
Liz Robertson as Madame Giry
Daisy Maywood as Meg Giry
Barry James as Monsieur Firmin
Gareth Snook as Monsieur André
Wendy Ferguson as Carlotta

Now, I found out.....Well, actually I've always known about Phantom, but I never actually felt very curious about it, until Les Misérables the movie was being advertised. When I started following Eva Schon from Ramblings of a Janeite on Pinterest, I mostly saw Les Mis and Phantom "teamed" up in everything. If there was something about Les Mis, there was always something of Phantom next to it. I got on Wikipedia, which is always my go-to website for whatever I want to know about. The plot was very interesting, and I have to say, even before I read the book, I firmly decided in my mind that I wanted Christine to go with Erik. Crazy, I know. Well, let's just say, with Ramin Karimloo as Erik and Sierra Boggess as Christine, I ship them even more. Ramin's voice, is.....is.......breathtaking. For me, when I think about a creepy guy with the voice of angel, I think deep and mysterious. That's exactly what I thought about Ramin's. He has such a sophisticated voice and great acting skills. I've heard how people think that he didn't know what he wanted to do with his performance and such, but I think he knew exactly what he wanted to do.
Sierra Boggess is the most perfect Christine you will ever find. Her voice is amazing!!!! Her acting is superb!!! I love her version of Think Of Me. Like, how awesome is the way she acts. She goes from very fearful and nervous to bright and confident!!!!
Hadley Fraser, gah, this man is brilliant!!!! His voice, is acting.
Now, I was very disappointed how there was no chandelier to fall. I know how hard that is to do that stunt, but it was still disappointing. And there was no mannequin of Christine, thought it probably would have totally made me freak out. I love Firmin and Andre, the guys who play them seem to work very well with each other. Their version of "Notes" is my ultimate favorite. Even the background thingy they used was awesome!!! I loved the scene they used for the cemetery part. "Wandering Child" was beautiful, thought I would have liked it without Raoul's part. (Sorry Hadley! Love you and your voice, but I think that it was great until you came in.)

Now the ending had to be like nearly the best part of the musical. Sarah Brightman (YES SARAH BRIGHTMAN) came out and sang with four, well five including Ramin at the end, phantoms!!!!!!! Too bad Michael Crawford couldn't sing. I was so impressed with Colm Wilkinson's performance, I can't even....... Peter Joback was my least favorite Phantom there. Sorry! I loved it when Colm pushed Ramin out for some extra cheers and applause. Because we all should know and agree on something: He really did deserve it!

This was the first version I had ever seen. My dad and mom like POTO and owned the movie. They eventually got rid of it because they said it was basically too scary-creepy like. I have seen so many scenes to compare versions, I feel like I've already seen the entire movie. But have to say, if I had bought it, it would definitely be in next years garage sale. The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall is my favorite version by a landslide.

Celebrate Musicals Week Details

Welcome to Celebrate Musicals Week, hosted by Miss Dashwood over at her blog "Yet Another Period Drama Blog"! I was so excited when I saw the pin on Pinterest!!! Before I even clicked the link, I was like, "If I can do it, I'm full-on set doing The Phantom of the Opera". Miss Dashwood would like for everyone to write at least three posts, but I'm an excess person, I will probably do four or five. (Yes I know, but excess is one word that definitely describes me). The posts will be:
~One review on the 25th Anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall stage version
~My favorite cast or actors who has performed in Phantom
~A trivia questionnaire about The Phantom of the Opera
~Comparing songs from two different versions
~Costumes comparisons

Writings On The White Fence: A Little Snippet Here, A Little Snippet There

Ah, Writings On The White Fence!!! I decided to post a few parts of a few of my books. Most are them are probably complete and a few are incomplete. Now, with the names for Holding The Secrets; Yes, I know there are names of aquatic animals and ground insects. Yes, I know it's weird. And yes, they are my books and I can do what I want to them! :) Tell me your thoughts!!

The Last Dance
Amanda worked on the routine alone but she was getting even more discouraged. Wiping her slightly teary eyes, Amanda got into position. She wasn't facing the mirror, the door or where the computer was. A man had put in his own CD, and just before the music started, came up behind her. Amanda's heart beat quickened, when she felt her back against his chest, and one of his hands around her waist, and one softly holding her hand. She felt his face against hers, The music was soft and slow, and Amanda didn't know what happened, but she danced her heart out, putting so much emotion and passion into this dance. The dance ended with her looking up into a pair of beautiful brown eyes.

Holding The Secrets #4 As The Moon Rises
Clam just happened to look behind him, and Mantis and his group were following them.
"Go!" Clam yelled. Plankton stepped on the gas pedal, and it became a high speed chase. Plankton was going nearly 80 miles an hour, as was Mantis, but they were both very close.

"Stop!" Zeelyn yelled. A huge semi was coming near them, on Zeelyn's side. Plankton pushed the breaks hard, but the semi hit them, and spun them around. Mantis and his group were also thrown by it. The jolt was the hardest impact Zeelyn had even experienced. Shards of glass were all around them. Clam, Zeelyn, and Plankton were knocked out from the impact, but Clowny, Squid, Jellyfish, and Krill were all still responsive. Blood was spattered across Zeelyn and the others, as they were all a bit trapped. Krill looked at where Zeelyn was laying, he was laying against Clam in the back seat, unconscious. Mantis, Caterpillar, and Spider were all knocked out, as the Scotland Yard and paramedics rushed to the scene.

Holding The Secrets #7 Until Dawn Breaks
"That was not supposed to happen!" Mack snapped in anger. He yanked off his tie, as the team collapsed on the couch. "My only daughter is in the hands of a psycho, and now what? We shouldn't have gone through with this stupid plan!" Zeelyn had gone to bathroom to clean up his blood, and overheard the conversation. He marched out there and demanded, "Stupid plan? You're the one who let Marina go on this mission. You're the one who said it was fine, not me!"
"This plan wasn't even about us, or catching the guy. It was only about you and getting your revenge on him!" Mack shot back.

"You're sure as heck's right about that! He killed my dad, right in front of me. I saw him collapse, I saw the bullet hole, I saw the blood! He just lay there, a corpse, leaving two helpless kids behind! Have you seen someone die right in front of you, not on a mission? Did your dad die right in front of you? Now I just found out he suffocated my mama and killed her. My mama! Everyday, I deal with the fact that my parents are dead, both killed by the same man. I pray everyday that no one has to see what I've seen. I pray that no one has to experience what I did. I pray that everyday! I could promise you that he will only let Gemma live until dawn breaks. After that he will kill her." Zeelyn threw down his handgun and stalked off, slamming his bedroom door.

Holding The Secrets #8 Just As The Rain Falls
The man grabbed Gemma and thrust her against the wall and yelled, "Who have you been talking to?" The wall didn't hurt Gemma and she wasn't scared, but played the innocent emotional woman roll and started sobbing, as she replied, "I haven't talked to anyone!"

"What were the phone calls you were making last night, and for the past week?" the man got in her face and grabbed her wrists, re-thrusting her back against the wall.

"My boss! There is a different time zone! I cannot call him during the day!" Gemma lied. Tears were streaming down her face. In her head, she wanted to laugh, thinking how she could bring this man to his knees. Zeelyn was breathing fire inside the closet, hearing his sister's fake sobs. Even if she was acting, only God knew what the man was doing to her. The man shoved her to the ground, and told her, "You better watch what you do, my girl, I don't like snoopy ladies around here." With that he walked out slamming the door. Gemma just stayed on the floor, still crying and sniffing, not knowing if the man would come back in. After about ten minutes, she got up and scrambled to the closet. Zeelyn immediately took up Gemma's hands and inspected them, as he demanded in a worried tone, "He didn't hurt you, did he?" A soft gasp came from his lips, for her wrists were already showing harsh bruising. Black, blue, purple, and red were the colors coming to the surface of Gemma's skin.

Disney and Les Miz: The Only Person Deserving The Title Of "Eponine Thenardier"

Cool, huh?
*I Do Not Own Either Pictures

So, ever since I heard about Les Misérables through television advertising for the movie, I've been hooked. And you hear all kinds of fangirls all about Eponine because "Oh the boy who I love just started dating my sister." and "Great. Now I know how Eponine feels. Totally friend-zone!" and yeah. Ridiculous stuff like that. But, I was watching the old 1997 Disney move Hercules. Now, when I was a young girl, I was babysat by my dad's cousin. I would watch this movie every time I went, even if it did have a severe problem with freezing. And throughout the movie, I couldn't believe it! I actually found a Disney character that has near resemblance to Eponine!!!!! Yep, that's right. Megara, otherwise known as "Meg", is a natural match to Eponine!!!! I'd never made the "connection" until I watched both movies. You would not believe how much they are alike. Now, Les Miz fans are probably like "What?" and people who've seen and love Hercules are probably like "What?" So, let's just let this sink in for a moment, shall we? Okay, it's sunk in, let's go! (Grabs hand and runs into magical porthole transporter)

Eponine Thenardier From
Les Misérables 2012 Movie
*I Do Not Own Picture
Okay, Eponine. We'll start off with her. She is a young girl who is now poor and works for her father and helps out with his band of thieves. She lived a great life until her parents were sent into poverty. She meets Marius to beg for money and begins to fall deeply in love with him. She ends up saving his life by taking a bullet for him- and dying in his arms as the cost.

Now, we look at Meg. She is a woman who was tricked, you might say, by her first love whom she thought loved her, but ran off with another woman, leaving her devastated and heart-broken. Now, she works for Hades unwillingly to get Hercules and destroy him. She and Hercules fall in love with each other, and she saves his life by 1. Getting Pegasus and Phil and 2. She pushes him out of the way of a giant falling pillar and sacrifices herself, ultimately breaking Hades strength spell over Hercules. She ends up dying, but is brought back to life when Hercules rescues, what I think is her "soul". Now, I know this ends up better than Marius and Eponine's story, but hear me out.

Meg From 1997 Disney's Hercules
*I Do Not Own Picture

Things that are different:
1. Eponine didn't have a first love who abandoned her
2. Meg's father wasn't a thieving bastard and she didn't have a mother (But then again, who would want the Thenardiers as their parents? Not me!)
3. Eponine's story doesn't have a good ending

Now, waltz on this lovely road with me to the things that are nearly the same:
1. Meg and Eponine are basically forced into bad things (Eponine stealing for her father and Meg helping a crazy "god" overtake his brother's kingdom and destroy Hercules in the process) (Although Eponine could have chosen to leave, but that would leave her to die on the streets unloved and unwanted)
2. Even in the bad things they were doing they both fell in love with guys.
3. They both end up dying for the men they love, both willingly, admitting that they had done some bad things but are sorry.
4. Both struggle with their love lives and keeping their own in tact.

Now, Les Miz fans may say "This is the most pathetic list I've ever seen to compare anyone to Eponine!" And Hercules fans might say the same. But to me, they resemble each other so well. In the movie, it seemed that Meg didn't have any parents, it didn't look like she had home or anyone to turn to, unless you want to call Hades a guardian, be my guest, because I won't. Both girls were suffering and died for love. The main difference is that Marius didn't love Eponine back and Eponine died and couldn't be brought back to life through a "soul". And these are my reasons that Meg is the only person to seems to fit the "name" of Eponine.

Let The Music Move You: He Is With Us by Love And The Outcome

This song just started playing on my local radio. It's called He Is With Us from Love And The Outcome.  The message in this song is so powerful. Especially the chorus.

We can trust our God
He knows what He's doing
though it might hurt now
we won't be ruined
it might seem there's an ocean in between
But He's holding onto you and me
And He's never gonna leave, no
He is with us, He is with us
Always Always
He is with us, He is with us
Always, Always

Just that little portion of the song speaks such great truth. No matter how bad it gets, He is with us. How true is that? It's so true. We may not see it yet, but everything will work out because we know God will not leave us. Click this to view a video on Youtube of this songs with the lyrics.

Pass The Popcorn: Holes

This is my first Pass The Popcorn. The movie that I picked is a Disney film called "Holes", based on the book by Louis Sachar. I've always loved this movie, it is a bit of a comedy to me.
PLOT:
Stanley Yelnats is a good young kid who is accused of stealing a donated famous pair of shoes, from his baseball hero Clyde Livingston otherwise known as "Sweet Feet". He is sent to a camp in Greenlake, Texas for 18 months as his sentence for his "crime". At this camp, all of the boys there are to dig one hole everyday.

CHARACTERS:
Stanley Yelnats the IV
Hector Zeroni "Zero"
Sam
Katherine Barlow (Otherwise known as "Kissin' Kate Barlow)

REVIEW:
This movie is a fun movie, with a pinch of romance, a lot of comedy, and a bit of action and mystery involved. Common Sense Media is a site where reviews of movies, music and books are given. They say that a good age range for Holes is around age 10. You can check out their review here.

For me, it's always been one of my favorite movies. I loved the story of the onion man Sam and Kate Barlow, along with the old flashbacks of Stanley's ancestors lives.
